Apple Twist Review - Timberdoodle
Excitement!
Alvin and Abigail couldn't wait to open this as soon as we pulled it out of the box it shipped in!
They have already played this a handful of times in the few days we've had it.
Abi asks me all the time to play again. She is really getting into it!
The twins are going into 3rd Grade and love to learn with games.
Alvin has some learning difficulties, so games help to get him engaged and his mind working.
Figuring It Out
They decided to work together to figure out how to do it. It was pretty easy for Abi and Alvin to figure it out, though they didn't realize at first that the apple board itself twists until they tried one that they couldn't solve. Then they carefully examined the picture to figure out why they couldn't get it when the one before had been so easy. As soon as they realized that part was different, they twisted the board to match, and they were then able to solve the puzzle! The board stays the same in each level until the advanced level, so they don't have to change the board with each puzzle. Though they still checked it each time they started a new challenge, just to make sure.
The point of the game is to get the three worms to fit on the apple.
The heads of the worms have to be on the right place on the board.
The challenge book shows where the heads need to be,
and then the kids twist the worms to figure out how to fit them onto the apple board.
I love that they worked together and were able to complete the challenges on their own!
Apple Twist is excellent for the kids to take turns playing with while I help the others.
I recommend putting this game out for the kids to do anytime, not just during "school" time!
