Code Rocket

My oldest daughter Ella is going into 6th grade. It's crazy to think she's in Middle school now!

Code Rocket is for ages 8 and up and is included in the 5th grade curriculum kit. It is in both the religious and non-religious options.

Here is a link to the 5th grade kit!

She has always had a true love and passion for everything science related. When we go to book stores,

she always ends up with a new science or STEM book of some sort.

Multi-Sensory

Ella has done a lot of online coding and loved it, so this seemed like the perfect activity for her to do. This gives her the opportunity to have an actual product for hands on learning. We love when we can make our learning multi-sensory!

Easy Set-Up

The Code Rocket is very easy to set up. You go to the website and download the small windows app. Once you open it, there is a starting area. There is a short video on how to connect the rocket to the computer. It's just plug and go.

You start on challenge one and work your way through the steps. It is a basic challenge to show how to use the program and how to use the coding system. Each lesson has information, a short video, the code to change around, and a small quiz. The quizzes are only a few questions to help the kids retain the important information better.

Ella spent a lot of time in the first challenge. She wanted to make sure she fully understood every part before moving on. That's her logical brain working it's magic!

So far she has completed a few challenges and spent a lot of time in each one. She plays around to see what combinations and changes she could come up with. There are twelve different lights that can go on and off, brighten or dim, and flash. Each level adds more options in the code.

She is excited to keep going and get to more challenging products!
