The Battle Sheep game is made for ages seven and up and is part of Timberdoodle's third-grade curriculum kit,
religious and non-religious.
There are full-color instructions and also a short video on the Timberdoodle website explaining how to play.
Every time you play, you set the game board up differently. You also start your sheep in different places, each time on a spot on the edge of the game board. It drastically changes when you go between two and four players. I love that each game is just as exciting as the last one.
Each person takes a turn and moves part of their sheep stack in a straight line all the way to the end of the board. You cannot stop before the last tile, and you cannot drop sheep on the way to the end.
The person that covers the most pasture spaces wins the game.
We learned quickly that Ella's strategy is to cover as many as possible, while Alvin's goal was to block everyone else from being able to move their pieces. Abi just enjoyed playing and switched it up each time.
